Russian Speaking Interpreter Translator

A global consulting engineering company with its head office in Melbourne is seeking applications of interest from experienced qualified and accredited technical interpreter translators/administrators skilled in ideally in an engineering environment to provide crucial administration and translation support to ongoing projects based in Russia.
As fluent Russian speaker, you will have excellent communication skills, a high level of computer literacy, you will need to have a well developed hand on technical understanding of using various databases and have worked as a trained linguist for at least 5 years with the ability to translate both to and from native language.
You will also have the technical capability to interpret and translate technical data, drawings, manuals, engineering codes etc. Ideally you have experience in working with engineers and have an appreciation of how they work.
As the Technical Interpreter Translator, you will be responsible for:
Reviewing multi discipline drawings prepared by others in the English language
Consulting with discipline engineers and designers to form an understanding of the drawing content
Using Babylon, other translation software or a Russian technical dictionary to develop understanding of the technical terminology
Inserting Russian Cyrillic language text into drawings adjacent to English language text
If you have a qualification in engineering preferably a Bachelor of Engineering Degree or Mechanical Engineering Degree you are strongly encouraged to apply.
A competitive remuneration hourly rate will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
