Ok, let's have... Question is: as I understood in the neighbor topic with my example, "smoked women" mean that somebody smoked her? Right way probable: "smoking women", how to say in a past tense about the permanently smoking women?

well, if she is smoked it means that she has been exposed to the smoke (for instance, she has a particular smell). You can put it that way if you really mean it .

‘Smoking woman’ means that a woman has a habit of smoking i.e. puffing out the smoke of tobacco or the like. In this case ‘smoking’ is closer to an adjective than to a verb, so i guess it can’t have the past tense.
Can you be more specific about what you are trying to say? (probably, you are talking about perfect participle)

That's it! I mean smoking is her habit. Is right expression should be like: "...amount of smoking women from 1960 to 1975 ...."?

i'd rather say ""... in the period between 1960 and 1975 the number of smoking women ... "

There is a lot of moments to use a "number" word. What correct synonyms I have to use? As I see "amount" is not good... or what?

Sorry, Masha, I lied to you. I'm just found a book, so I have one:
Yale Richmond "From NYET to DA. Understanding the Russians", Intercultural Press, Inc. 1992.
But I think this book is useless for preparing to the test...

If I understand your question correct you have to use "used to" in this sentence/

'used to' means that it was in the past (she did smoke) and it's no more now (she doesn't smoke). But Abor Mot made it clear that it is about 'permanently smoking'

"amount" is ok but if you are going to support your statement with figures i guess 'number' is better

Sometime, it's a funny to read, what they are thinking about us. I gonna put this book to the rest room - guess, will help to, whatever humans does in there....
