Кёртин Юниверсити находится в Перте (хороший город для проживания) и уровень инженерных програм там достаточно хороший. Чарльз Стюарт Юниверсити находится в Вогга-Вогга (горячая дыра) и уровень его как у плинтуса, хотя, по большому счёту и там, и там чему-нибудь да научат.

У меня приятель работал лектором в Кёртине.

Есть университеты первого ранга (самые престижные), второго (неплохие, в чём-то, как, например, в инженерных науках, могур быть настолько же хорошими, как и университеты первого ранга), и третьего (раньше были училищами и техникумами, да в конце 1980-х гг. их переделали в университеты, стандарт обучения низок).

Ну так вот, по моему разумению, Кёртин -- второго ранга. Причём всякие там инженерные науки должны быть на высоте.

а как по медецинской диагностике (рентген, узи)

В целом, медицинская диагностика относится к инженерии. А дальше -- копай Гуголь.

Медицинская диагностика, это врачи а не инженеры, хотя факультет может быть и инженерский, как в QUT. Допустим если я имею бакалавра по инженерским делам, я не могу получить мастера по medical imaging, а если есть бакалавр медицины или как минимум health science - то могу. Кроме того, для того чтобы делать постград, надо уже работать по этой линии

QUT хороший вуз, я была там, впечатлило с положительной стороны!

Чарльз Стюрт специализируется на дистанционном обучении. Имхо, чуть-чуть лоуенд. Кроме ваги-ваги есть еще в бафвурсте...мож еще где. Кёртин - скорее нормальный университет.
А почему такой короткий список. Тока в Перте есть еще как минимум UWA, Мурдок и ЭКУ ака Микки-Маус Университи.

И "второго ранга" тоже сойдет.

New visa measures from 1 January 2010 to assist international students

To further enhance integrity measures for the Student Visa Program and ensure that international students have adequate financial arrangements for their study in Australia, the Australian Government is proposing to introduce a Visa Application Charge (VAC) exemption for students affected by a provider default. The Government will also increase the minimum financial requirements for international students from $12 000 to $18 000 to more accurately reflect the cost of living in Australia. Media release



1. Visa Application Charge exemptions for students affected by an education provider default

In cases where the education provider has defaulted on its agreement to provide a course, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) proposes to provide a special Visa Application Charge (VAC) exemption to help students continue their studies in Australia.

• What help is available for students?

When a course is terminated and when students intend to continue their studies in Australia, DIAC will allow those students extra time to enrol in another course.

• VAC refund provisions

From 9 November 2009, affected students who have already applied for a new student visa to continue their studies in another course in 2009 will be eligible for a refund of the VAC for that visa.
Specific information on applying for a refund of the VAC should be obtained by contacting DIAC .

• Nil VAC provisions

Regulation changes are being proposed to permanently assist student visa holders and exempt students affected by the default of their education provider, as well as those who need to apply for a further student visa to continue their studies in Australia with an alternative provider. These measures will exempt affected students from paying the $540 VAC for this further application charge.
Subject to approval by Parliament and the Governor-General, these changes will come into effect from 1 January 2010.

2. Student visa living costs and evidence of funds
Legislative changes are being pursued to increase the basic rate of living costs under the Migration Regulations from the previous rate of $12 000 per year. Estimates made by Australian Education International suggest $18 000 per year more accurately reflects the real cost of living in Australia.
Subject to approval by the Governor-General, it is proposed that these changes will come into effect from 1 January 2010.
