Practise Tests For IELTS #1

International music that is heard everywhere nowadays?
You should write at least 250 words.
Use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples
and relevant evidence.

The sound is one of the most important things in our life. Deprived of sounds, the life would be much more bleak and boring. And without any doubt the brightest appearance of sound is music, the pure product of human genius and talent.
Why do we need music? I believe this question hardly requires a real answering as everyone knows well what music means in our existence! It helps us to celebrate joyful times of success and allows us to go through difficult moments of grief and pain. It gives as fun at our holidays and calms us down when we feel uneasy. So it is really can be said that music is a gift of the heavens!
Since the very dawn of its history the mankind has been developing the various ways of producing sounds and organizing them in harmony forms what we now call music. The existence of a wide spectrum of human races and nations led to adequately numerous types of music spread all around the world. It is a self evident thing that music produced in each isolated region of the globe had its own specific traits. I would say it is a logical necessity coming from a significant level of isolation of different cultures in ancient world that in its own turn originated from the objective difficulties of traveling at those times.
As a consequence of this, by the beginning of the twentieth century there were a significant number of traditional music styles existing in different regions of the Earth. However, the opposite tendency of globalization and internationalization that started in fifties and only speeds up nowadays leads to a situation when traditional music becomes less and less popular. It gives up to the tide of international music, a product of the modern pop culture combining the most successive approaches to writing music often borrowed from traditional musical styles.
Though one can regret diminishing the role of traditional music I personally do not share this sentiment as all masterpieces of traditional music are carefully recorded and everybody has a chance of enjoying by the listening to them at any moment he realizes such a desire. On the other hand, the usual international music accommodates all the best that has been invented by all the musicians of the all passed eons and seems to be nicer for an ear of a usual man.
