Job Vacancy – FY06-205/207
Job Overview:
This position is responsible to research systems, applications, and network devices for vulnerabilities and malicious code (threat content), attack techniques, and write detection signatures for the same in support of eTrust security products. Content is for all eTrust products that have a continual content flow including anti-virus, vulnerability management, intrusion detection, policy compliance, and anti-spam.
Key Responsibilities:
· Designing, implementing and developing automated systems for malware processing and malware research,
· Co-operating with the development team on extending malware mitigation methods shipped within CA AV products;
· Disassembling and analysis of malicious code,
· Designing systems detection and clean procedures,
· Monitoring private/public sources of information on new threats.
· Validating implemented solutions,
Business Travel: Business travel of approximately 5 or less percent yearly is expected for this position.
Preferred Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Work Experience:
Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Research position requires someone who is very highly self motivated and can perform extensive research on highly technical issues. Security experience with some of the following is required: Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and/or Unix, transport protocols (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBEUI), wireless, Ethernet, WAN switching technologies, firewalls, intrusion detection, PKI, routers, switches, etc.
Specific Skills and Certifications
Qualified candidates must have a strong, solid knowledge of:
· x86 assembler
· C/C++
· Some most common scripting languages (eg VBS, JS,Perl, Shell)
· Internals of Win32 operating system,
· Experience in developing, debugging and de-compiling software applications and analysing computer systems. Experience with trade tools and utilities are a must. Security experience with any one of the following is highly desired: Windows, UNIX, Transport and networking technologies.
