Title: Project Engineer - Infrastructure
Qualifications: Civil engineer preferred although a mechanical engineer with suitable experience will be considered. 10 years experience minimum in the areas of studies and construction relating to mine site infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Study for the Balranald Project in the area of onsite and offsite infrastructure.
Onsite infrastructure includes: earthworks, drainage, roads, buildings, sewerage, water supply, ground water handling and disposal, tailings disposal and temporary construction facilities.
Offsite infrastructure includes: accommodation village located in the town of Balranald, heavy vehicle bypass road around Balranald, public road upgrades, public intersection upgrades.
The Project Engineer will have primary responsibility for the following:
1. Determining user requirements,
2. Undertaking trade-off analyses,
3. Determining scope, basis of design and undertaking basic design,
4. Developing capital and operating costs
5. Contributing to the PFS report.
Engineering for the onsite and offsite infrastructure will be to a level of detail commensurate with the required capex/opex accuracy for the PFS of +/-20-25%.
The Project Engineer will work as part of a small multidisciplinary study team and will liaise with other internal resources. The PE will also scope work packages, engage and liaise with outside consultants as necessary.
Location: The role is Adelaide based with occasional trips required to the site, Balranald and other regional locations, as necessary.
Tenure: The role is initially for a fixed term starting ASAP and ending Dec 2012. Subject to the project proceeding to a DFS, the tenure may be extended to include the DFS and potentially the subsequent Execution Phase.
