А self-awareness это opinion

А так как на нужно agree/disagree with opinion, то про факт мы не пишем

1) many people could increase their knowledge about themselves by observing other cultures while travelling.
2) on the flip side, there are some travellers who mostly interested in visiting beaches and the restaurant in their hotels. such people will never achieve greater self-awareness, for their limited interest in self-understanding.

Наверно нужно было интро писать что 100% agree.
Тогда было бы
1) people enlarge their self-awareness by looking at other societies.
2)individuals could better understand themselves and their physical and emotional limits while travelling in distant areas like Tundra and Amazonia .

Теоретически, такой подход вполне возможен, но при одном условии. Где-то вы все равно должны выразить concession, простите, не знаю / не помню русского соответствия, т.е. acknowledge the fact that travel broadens the mind.

Тема-то не только А, но и Б, а вы говорите только о Б, полностью игнорируя А.

There is an opinion that traveling not only allows people to gain new geographic experiences but also discover personal qualities within themselves they never knew existed. I completely agree for the following reasons.

1) When people travel, they are surrounded by unfamiliarity, which gives an opportunity to explore themselves.

2) The beauty and the ugliness of visited places can bring up unexpected emotions one never felt before.

Честно говоря, в первый раз сталкиваюсь с подобных словосочетанием в смысле travel: geographic experiences

А в смысле плана - очень хорошо, только я бы в 2) заменила one never felt before --> never knew they were capable of (чтобы подчеркнуть идею journey).

Недавно попалась фраза conventional wisdom, но не уверен можно ли употреблять ее в таком контексте?
