Ну как может быть рабис, если кошки привиты до въезда+ имеют хорошие результаты теста на антитела? Так еще раз прививать и еще раз делать тест - смысл? Вопрос, понятно, риторический.

Как с Израилем получилось? Тоже должна была быть гарантия, но обнаружили рабис и закрыли. Синг страхуется (Муверсы), потому что ввоз из России не обеспечивает гарантии, что были поставлена вакцина, была поставлена правильная вакцина, был сделан тест, тест был сделан правильно.

Понятно. Просто знакомые из Израиля говорят, что у них по жизни в Северных регионах бешенство обнаруживалось, только вот притормозили импорт только сейчас почему-то..
Ну что теперь поделать, уже как получилось. Просто искать другие пути остается и все.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the importation of cats to Australia from Russia via Israel.

As you are aware, the direct importation of cats and dogs from Israel to Australia has been suspended until further notice. This import restriction came into force on 15 October 2010. I will answer your questions below:

1. How does the suspending of the direct importation of dogs and cats from Israel could be applied to my cat?

I regret to inform you that the new conditions ban the importation of cats and dogs directly from Israel. Israel is now considered to be a non-approved country for importing companion animals into Australia.

AQIS cannot accept any pre-export vaccinations, blood samples or blood testing completed in Israel or any other AQIS non-approved countries.

2. What is the experience of such suspendings of importation of dogs and cats from other countries? How long does it take to investigate the case of an occurrence of dog-mediated and other types of rabies? In other words how soon the direct importation of dogs and cats from Israel could be unsuspended in best/worst cases?

Biosecurity Australia (BA) is the Australian government agency responsible for assessing the biosecurity risks posed by imported animals and the import policy formulation. In light of the recent dog-mediated rabies occurrence in Israel, Biosecurity Australia has reviewed the import conditions for cats and dogs resident in Israel. In this review, Biosecurity Australia has considered the recent rabies incidents, rabies vaccination and control programs operating in Israel and other relevant information.

Based on the results of the review, Biosecurity Australia has determined that Israel no longer meets the criteria for approval as a country where dog-mediated rabies is absent or well controlled. Accordingly, Biosecurity Australia has advised AQIS not to permit entry of cats and dogs directly from Israel into Australia. AQIS enforced the ban on cat and dog imports from Israel on 15 October 2010.

AQIS is unable to state how long this import restriction will be in place.

3. What measures should I take right now to prevent my cat being in quarantine for an extra-time (more than conventional six (6) months off-shore + one (1) month on-shore)?

I recommend you select an approved country from which your cat can be exported to Australia, following six months residency in that country. It is important to note that not all AQIS approved countries may allow the importation of cats and dogs from Israel.

You must contact the quarantine service in an AQIS approved country to ensure that cats are eligible for entry. Cats must meet all of the pre and post-entry quarantine requirements of the AQIS approved country.

If a Category 2 country were to accept your cats from Israel then the Category 2 country import conditions will apply to your cat when exporting to Australia. The Category 2 conditions do not include rabies vaccination and RNAT testing.

However, if you take the cat to a Category 4 country he/she will need to meet the rabies requirements. If you arrange for a blood sample to be collected as soon as the cat arrives in the Category 4 country, the waiting period after the RNAT test (150 days) and the residency requirement of six months can be achieved concurrently. Your cat has been given a rabies vaccine recently therefore it is reasonable to assume that an RNAT test would record an acceptable results.

Please note, the cat must be given a rabies vaccine again (because AQIS will no longer accept the vaccinations administered in Israel) while in the approved country. This vaccination can be either before or after blood sampling for the RNAT testing. As long as a rabies vaccination is administered before the cat leaves for Australia, he/she will meet the rabies vaccination requirement.

As a pet owner myself I understand how important your cat is to you. While I appreciate this is not the response you were hoping for, I am confident that you will understand that strict quarantine rules are required to maintain Australia’s favourable animal health status.

Как раз спросила их про Кипр, вот сейчас пишу Рейчел и плюс буду проситься к Кристине в Кипрский кошатник.
А еще ищу сопровождающее лицо для нашей котэ по маршруту Израиль-Кипр (к слову, лету из Тель-Авива до Ларнаки 1 час, можно будет уложиться в один день теоретически).

Thank you for your email. It has been passed to me for response. I’m a veterinary officer in Animal Biosecurity and I work on reviews of dog and cat diseases and import and export policy for dogs and cats. Animal Biosecurity makes recommendations to the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS).



In order for Israel to be reinstated as an approved country for the direct importation of dogs and cats into Australia, the Director of Veterinary Services and Animal Health in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would need to supply Australia with details of a consistently improved rabies status, and demonstrate that Israel is controlling dog-mediated rabies in the country again. It may take the Veterinary Services some time to control the dog-mediated rabies currently present in the country as rabies is present in wild jackals as well as in stray or wild dogs. Collecting the data required to demonstrate improvement can take several years, and then Australia must assess the application for approval again. The approval process can be quite slow, and a positive outcome can’t be guaranteed.



I’m sorry I can’t be more definite, but for the above reasons it’s likely to be some time before the suspension of importation of dogs and cats into Australia from Israel is lifted. Another option may be to plan to send your cat to another approved country for 6 months residency before export to Australia. The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) can give you country options and advice about this. Their contacts are:

The AQIS import conditions require that the cat is in an approved country (Cyprus) for a minimum of six (6) months immediately prior to import.

2. Since what moment will time of Cyprus residency period keep?

AQIS will allow the six month residency period from the time the cat arrives in Cyprus.

3. If it will be needed in what terms after cat’s arrival to Cyprus is it required to do repeated antirabic vaccination for her subsequent importation to Australia?

AQIS considers Cyprus as a Category 2 country, described as “Approved rabies-free countries and territories, minimum 30 days in Australian quarantine”. Rabies vaccination is not required for cats entering Australia from Cyprus.

4. Will Rabies Neutralising Antibody Titre Test (RNATT) be needed to do at the Cyprus territory to cat’s importation to Australia?

No. As AQIS considers Cyprus to be rabies-free, an RNATT is not required.

Короче, хотели как лучше, а получилось как всегда.. Вместо семи месяцев дай бог, чтобы восемью с половиной обошлось...
Зато так радостно читать о положительном опыте перевозки котеек - спасибо ВСЕМ, кто пишет о своем опыте, - это реально вдохновляет меня и придает силы, чтобы бороться дальше. Все будет хорошо.

Westisland, Princess, у нас час от часу не легче: для ввоза животного из Израиля в Кипр должно пройти 3 месяца с момента отбора крови на антитела к бешенству. К счастью, подходит наш российский тест, но отбор крови на него был 18 сентября, т.е. наша родная котэ сможет выехать из Израиля не ранее 18 декабря... Нет комментариев, одним словом. Семь месяцев, из-за которых я так парилась, когда впервые узнала о требованиях Австралии, теперь мне кажутся просто счастьем...

Вы только прочтите, пожалуйста, мой предыдущий пост, чтобы не попасть впросак, как мы.
Итого для вывоза из Израиля понадобятся: ветеринарный сертификат евростандарта, кошачий паспорт с прививками и сертификат с результатами теста на антитела. Плюс непосредственно перед вылетом в Кипр пройти осмотр ветеринара и прогнать блох/клещей и глистов (не позднее, чем за 24ч до вылета и не ранее 48ч)
