Да, забавная статья. Только с американским уклоном - строго настрого запретил превозносимое в Ау Curriculum Vitae и приказал писать исключительно Resume в заголовке. И о сертификатах высказался нехорошо. А так отличный гайд, самое что ни на есть "CV without BS"

Resume Tips

A professional recruiter will be able to ascertain all the information they need from a resume in roughly 30 seconds as they review hundreds of resumes each week.

Here are some tips to improve your chances of getting noticed.

The Format
Resumes should be prepared in Word using a clear font, such as Arial 10pt. Your resume should be no longer than three pages if at all possible.

The first pages should contain:

Personal details
In this section include your name and as many contact details as you are happy to disclose. Other details may include:
Any Visa requirements or details of any Visa's
Any Languages spoken
Your educational details including the names of Schools and Colleges, the dates attended and your highest academic award in each institution
Major Courses you have attended
Licences/qualifications you hold

A summary of you
This should be two lines and should be a professional description of you. This is not a chance to share your dreams and ambitions or to highlight all your qualities as a human being.

Try:
'A certified Financial Advisor with 7 years experience focusing on home loans and superannuation in large retail banks.'

Rather than
'A loyal and happy person who wants to achieve their ambitions through hard work and dedication'
This section could also include a list of all the companies you have worked for, starting with the most recent. There should be a two-line description including job title and responsibilities all dated to the month.


An indepth description of your current role

These longer details should contain as much information as possible, highlighting any work you do with an industry specific focus and quantifying the size of the organisation, task, team or budget you have worked with.

On the second and third pages
You should provide more detail about the other roles you have held (in the same order as you have detailed on the front page).
You needn't go back through all your work history in these descriptions. Just the most relevant and recently. As a rule 12 years is ample experience to detail and then anything after that should be less descriptive but do state the years and job titles again.

If you have several years' professional experience there is no need to detail roles that you had in the school holidays. However, if you did perform part time work to fund education it is good to highlight that.

Put down the reasons you left a role. Redundancy no longer has a stigma in today's volatile markets and by showing the reasons for leaving you are demonstrating there is nothing to hide. If you have a break in your resume explain why. If you have travelled declare that also.


Other considerations

There is no need to attach a picture of yourself or any graphics.
Avoid making any political or controversial statements.
Do not try to mislead the reader. If you are in the first year of a qualification, state that. Do not leave the impression you have completed and passed if you haven't.
Do have a variety of resumes suited to the types of roles you are applying to. These can highlight various specific experiences you have in your career relevant to different roles.
Do check all grammar and spelling. There is nothing likely to present you in a bad light as much as spelling errors combined with claims of 'Good attention to detail'.

In short, ideal candidates have the perfect FORM, FIT, and FUNCTION:

1) Form

Does your resume already list ALL of the attributes listed on the job description? Well, in their eyes, you've either got it or you don’t. It is easy to determine a match in this area.

2) Fit

Does your resume demonstrate how you'll fit nicely in the working environment and meet unwritten expectations of the job? Some companies operate with strict policies that need to be followed or require several meetings to make decisions. Some common expectation include:

- Being able to increase responsibility or complexity of assignment over time.
- Being willing to learn new things and take on new challenges.
- Having a true passion for what they do best

With “Fit,” past experiences are indicators of a good match, but usually a follow-up discussion is required to understand the circumstances, preferences, and adaptability.

3) Function

Does your resume show your ability to perform the job in all respects? Adequate expertise is often needed in specific skill sets (e.g. programming for computer scientists, notary skills for lawyers, etc) and this may also include “soft skills” like decision-making, problem-solving, and written/oral presentation skills.

An emerging skill set for some jobs is working with social networking like leveraging Twitter or Facebook.

“Function” qualifications are measured on a graduated scale. The more ability (depth and breadth) you have, the better your chances of being selected.

In summary:

Candidates should only apply to jobs where they meet 95% or more of all requirements. It's a harsh reality but it's the truth. To make sure a recruiter knows you are the ideal candidate for the job, make sure you cover all the aspects of form, fit, and function in your resume and cover letter right off the bat.

Considering how large a role the resume plays in this process, candidates may want to inquire with professional resume writers for help. If all of the criteria discussed above are not met, a candidate is not likely to be presented. Remember, good recruiters want to present only the best candidates.

After all, this is their livelihood we're talking about. Their reputation is on the line, rework is time-consuming and expensive, and happy candidates and clients lead to more happy candidates and clients.

Я уже неделю нахожусь в процессе сочинения CV
Появился ряд вопросов...
Очень надеюсь на вашу помощь!
1) Ищу работу, находясь еще в Москве. Полагаю, что московский адрес лучше не указывать, хочу указать просто Москва, Россия. Может быть такое, что агент увидит, что адрес - Россия, и не станет даже смотреть резюме? Кто так делал, расскажите, плиз.
2) Наверное, надо указать предполагаемый месяц приезда в Ау. Это нормально?
3) Когда, к примеру, указывают руководителя проекта, почему обычно пишут только имя, фамилию и иногда PhD ? Указывать место работы и должность не принято что ли??? Я такого нигде еще не встречала.
4) Кто-нибудь вставлял в резюме ссылки на сайты компаний или личные странички референсодателей? Я тоже такого не встречала, хотя изучила более 50 штук разных резюме.

Я конечно не специалист в этом вопросе поскольку ещё сам работу не нашёл, но по моему опыту могу сказать.
Если ищете из Москвы, то гораздо охотнее откликнутся на резюме в которм это не упомянуто.
Я убирал адрес и завёл австралийский скайповый номер.
Если впишете свой реальный телефон то могут позвонить в 4 часа ночи. Оно вам надо?

Как правило - да, не стоит, но сильно зависит от того, какая у тебя профессия. У врачей в QLD, например, специальная форма для CV, где обязательно указывать и адрес, и трёх референсодателей.

Ух ты, как со скайпом интересно придумано
Ни за что б не додумалась до такого!
Но тогда получается, что на скайп мне могут позвонить только когда я в сети и в скайпе, так ведь? А номер телефона вообще не указывать.
Получается я в шапке CV не указываю ни адреса, ни страны, ни номера телефона))) Только имя и фамилию, а также почту и скайп. Круто!
