даже не знаю что думать- наверное все-таки General лучше оценивается)

Поздравляю! Ну если это то что вы на экзамене написали, то хорошо написано! Стиль выдержан, все идеи подкреплены примерами и связаны между собой, приятно читается. Наличие грамматических оборотов высокого уровня + хороший range of vocabulary. В общем отличный пример эссе и письма.

На General обычно темки полегче немного.

А остальное как? Набрали все 8-ки?

naun81, попробуйте read-along для тренировки Speaking. Плюс посмотрите по местным NZ библиотекам австралийскую книгу по произношению InTempo, Unit 8 особенно полезный.

ваши эссе и письмо просто заглядение. сдавала тоже 10 сентября в Канберре.. получила похожий результат - только спикинг и райтинг наоборот . теперь еще прочитала Ваше эссе и поняла, что накосячила с таск респонс.
подайте на пересмотр, а еще лучше пересдайте по горячим следам. Такой резутьтат мог быть следствием стресса от той ситуации, которую Вы описали раньше.

Тина, я самоучка, с преподавателем никогда не занималась, но в подростковом возрасте была фаном брит-попа поэтому самостоятельно штудировала английский ну и думаю есть просто способности к изучению языков, т.к англ. в школе легко давался и еще свободно говорю по-корейски)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the purchase I have recently done in one of your stores and request replacement.

Last Friday I bought a solid oakwood wardrobe in your shop on Compton street, and it was delivered yesterday. To my disappointment, I found a huge scratch on the left door. I wouldn't mind if it was on the side, but being on the front side made it easily visible, which is unacceptable.

I suppose the damage was made while packaging and delivery. I have noticed that delivery workers were in a hurry, and that there was not enough packaging material to protect the furniture from being damaged.

As I am satisfied with the purchase except the damage, could you please arrange the replacement as soon as possible? Also, I would recommend you to provide some education to your logistic workers to prevent such issues in future.

Supporters of the idea that employee age should be restricted believe this to be a viable solution to recent rise in unemployment rates. These young people might benefit from taking over the positions currently occupied by elder. Thus, it is clear why many agree that employees should retire when reach age of 65.

However, others argue that maintaining employment status is essential for aged in order to be financially independent. Numerous surveys and polls reveal that only small number of citizens (less than 15%) are satisfied with current pension schemes and feel safe about their lives after retirement. Taking into consideration that life expectancy increased dramatically, people should provide themselves for many more years than in the past. Therefore, it is clear why many think elder should work without any regulations regarding their age.

Both camps have strong and logical arguments to support their positions. However, in my personal opinion, it is unfair and immoral to force individuals to quit their jobs on a basis of their age with no regard to financial situation.

Elle_uz, я не так давно начала готовиться, написала только 4-5 эссе. Если хотите могу выслать их Вам на почту, но качество у них так себе)
в качестве подготовки я прочитала все что могла в интернете, выбирала хорошие эссе на каждую структуру и читала их по несколько раз. Плюс, выписывала красивые фразы и слова и их тоже перечитывала каждый день. Мне помог этот метод, думаю потому что у меня хорошая память.
Рекомендую изучить блог Ryan и тему Как я сдавал IELTS на этом форуме, там как раз есть много пробных эссе)

Advertising is more harmful than beneficial. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is said that numerous advertisements customers are facing each day may bring
more harm than good. I tend to think that advertising has equal advantages and
disadvantages.

Let’s begin by looking at the positive effects of advertisements. One of the main
pros is that buyers are informed about financial benefits of purchasing the products
advertised. A good examples are coupons and vouchers with discounts for next
order which helps shoppers to spend less or get more out of their shopping
and stay within the budget.

Secondly, advertising is one of the most effective ways to introduce new goods
and services to the customers. Advertisements make buyers aware of product
of service features and benefits they may never knew about. Manufactures
create the YouTube videos and sponsor the online reviews demonstrating
the ways of use of new software or hardware which helps customers
become familiar with the newest inventions.

Turning to the other side of argument, advertisement has few
drawbacks. In particular, under the pressure of excessive promotions
some shoppers tend to spontaneously buy the goods which are not
in their priority lists. This may lead to overspending and person’s budget deficit.


Moreover, some companies target child audience in their advertisements. Fast
food chains are offering toys, stickers or cards to younger generation, and as
a result inappropriate food behavior is created. This may lead to overweight,
lack of physical activity and serious illnesses.

Therefore, advertising should be considered as mixed blessing,
where it can be both useful and detrimental to the public.
